Mark has over 30 years experience in the Insurance Industry. Founding Alan Gray’s Underwriting Services practice in 2014, as Director of Underwriting Services, Mark has performed numerous Underwriting Quality Reviews of Carriers, MGAs, PAs and Coverholder for multiple coverages and products including Casualty, Property, Healthcare, Financial Lines, Environmental and Specialty Auto, occurring both in the U.S. and at International venues, on behalf of Domestic and Non- Domestic Carriers and Reinsurers. In addition to leading the Underwriting assessment component of AG’s Due Diligence engagements, Mark manages Multi-Scope Compliance Audit programs and leads AG’s New Products Underwriting Development. In addition, Mark is an accomplished Insurance Industry professional possessing technical and management competencies in both Underwriting and Claims disciplines. As Vice President and Product Line Manager at AIG/ Lexington Insurance Company, Mark transformed Lexington’s Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) business to profitability by developing and executing portfolio management strategies to both grow new business in targeted segments and retain profitable business for a national EPLI book of business with ‘eight figures’ in annual written premium. Mark empowered staff through training and underwriting reviews, creation of enhanced underwriting guidelines and processes, and brought value to clients through innovation of products with market differentiating coverage and value added services. As D&O/EPLI Claim Manager, Mark founded Lexington’s EPLI Claim unit, innovating processes for communicating new product claims trends to Underwriting Management. Prior to joining AIG/Lexington, Mark began his career at The Hartford/Cameron & Colby Co. handling complex primary, excess and assumed reinsurance claims caseloads including CGL, Umbrella, Errors and Omissions, Excess Workers’ Compensation and Environmental liability.
