State Farm to Increase Claims Workforce by 3,000
State Farm plans to grow its claims workforce by about 10%, or 3,000 people, through 2027, with total hiring of about 5,500 after attrition. The mutual said it handles nearly 11 million claims a year and needs more staff as weather, vehicle technology and repair complexity rise.
TFP IPO News - Specialty insurance MGA TFP Group files for an estimated $350 million US IPO
The Fidelis Partnership, also known as TFP Group, has filed for a U.S. IPO that Renaissance Capital estimates could raise about $350 million. The London-based MGA, split from Fidelis Insurance in 2023, booked $723 million of revenue in the year to June 30 and plans to list on the NYSE under ticker TFP.

Fitch survey suggests further property cat reinsurance declines at 2027 renewals
A Fitch Monte Carlo survey found 60% of participants expect further property-catastrophe rate declines at 2027 renewals, mostly under 10%. Eighty-six percent also expect some loosening of terms, while capital allocation preference has shifted toward life and health, financial solutions and specialty.
The Hartford commuted its 2016 asbestos and environmental adverse-development cover with National Indemnity after receiving $1.12 billion in cash. The deal ends an arbitration and is expected to produce a $497 million pretax gain in the third quarter, with no effect on core earnings.

MNK International has launched MNK International North America to place specialist risks into London and Bermuda for North American producers. Julian Ball, a former Marsh and United Insurance Brokers executive, will lead the unit from London.
Ocean hull market faces growing risk pressures despite global premium growth, reports IUMI | IUMI
IUMI said global ocean hull premiums rose 9.4% to $10.5 billion in 2025, but the market is still softening because fleet growth and higher vessel values, not rate strength, drove the increase. An aging fleet, spare-parts shortages, rerouting and war-risk pressure are adding claims cost even as reported loss ratios remain relatively favorable.
